Are You Interested in Responding to Change Rather Than Just Following a Plan?

Our Free Online Local Lockdown Special Certified ScrumMaster Training on 6-8 July Can Show You How

Scrum is the leading agile framework and hundreds of thousands of teams around the world have found that it helps them focus, innovate and deliver great results. It’s not just for software teams, which is what most people think of when they hear agile development. It’s for marketing teams, hardware teams, anybody in management who is looking to respond to change rather than just blindly follow a pre-set plan. Quite frankly that really sounds like dealing with the recipe for the entire world right now. Not just sticking to a plan, dealing with change as it comes!

What is a Certified ScrumMaster?

A Scrum Master is a role in Scrum – every team has a Scrum Master and they are responsible for coaching and facilitating the team and removing impediments to the team’s progress.

Certified ScrumMaster is the premier certification for agile methods and the starting point for many people and teams wanting to go on to implement Scrum or to improve their existing Scrum implementation – not just for software teams.

Free/What You Can Afford Certified ScrumMaster Course

On July 6-8 I am holding an online Certified ScrumMaster class.

Due to COVID-19 we have moved to all online training and we have been delighted at the reception. Not only do the courses work but the feedback has been great – participants find the courses, engaging, fun and valuable – they leave with practical tools which they can implement straightaway to improve their own Scrum implementations.

I am not looking to earn money although donations (e.g. to cover the cost of certification) would be appreciated. Suggested donation if you can afford it is £60-£100 including VAT but I don’t want to exclude anyone for reasons of affordability.

Normal price is £895-£995 + VAT.

Why are we doing this?

Several reasons:

  • We love teaching this and understandably most of our regular customers are not focussed on training right now.
  • We want to give freelancers, project managers, developers, web designers and other creative professionals the opportunity to learn something new during a time when they have time on their hands.
  • Agile is the ideal approach for responding to the changes you need to make as a result of this pandemic.
  • We want to do something for the local community. Simon, our trainer, is based in Blairmore.

Who is this for?

Freelancers, developers, designers, other creative professionals, anyone doing or helping people to organise knowledge-based work. Scrum has been successfully applied in many different areas such healthcare, product development, restaurant management, marketing and change management.

Many of the companies you know use Scrum or something like it, such as Garmin, most banks, Spotify and video game developers.

What do you need?

First and foremost you need time on July 6-8 (Monday-Wednesday) 5-6 hours each day. There will be frequent breaks, including a 45 minute break for lunch.

You need a computer, with webcam (e.g. built-in laptop camera) and microphone (or headphones).

We will use zoom for our virtual classroom.

There is a little pre-reading requested. Links to free downloads for reading will be provided in advance. The reading should take you about 30 minutes.
